Privacy policy

Short version: we do not collect, store or sell your personal information. The numbers you type stay on your device.

What we do not collect

Every calculator and the estate checklist run entirely in your web browser. Names, dates, estate values and other inputs are not sent to us or stored on our servers. The checklist PDF is created on your device. We have no user accounts, no sign-up forms and no newsletter.

Links you share

When you change a calculator, its numbers and dates are added to the page address (for example ?gross=2500000) so that the Share button can create a link that reproduces your calculation. The name of the deceased is only used in your PDF; avoid sharing a link if it contains a name or figures you consider private.

Hosting logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

Advertising

Advertising is switched off by default. If we enable display advertising (for example Google AdSense), the ad provider may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. Before ads are enabled we will update this policy, name the provider, and provide any consent choices required by law. You can also manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings.

Your rights under POPIA

South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act gives you rights to know what personal information is held about you, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Because we do not collect personal information through the calculators, we normally hold none. If you email us, we use your email only to reply and delete it when no longer needed. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
